Holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Rhodes University (South Africa) and a Master of Science degree in Biotechnology from Kenyatta University. Been a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Biomedical Biotechnology Research Unit (BioBru)-Rhodes University. Was previously an assistant lecturer at Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology.
